Community Seasonal Garden
Started from the 2D figure ground drawing, the pleasure garden was gradually formed.
The project relates close with urban ecological development when forming its functionality and emphasising on the immersive experience.
In addition, the harmony between landscape and the building blocks, the different functionality they produce, as well as the relationship between form and circulations are important elements that were taken into consideration.

Ideogram

Developed from the dynamic pattern of the initial intuitive figure ground drawing, this project puts an emphasis on harmonizing the built elements with floral species.
By dividing the site into four areas with seasonal theme planting schedules, a dynamic experience of sense will be formed with the choice of circulation and within different times of a day and a year.
Also the various forms, height and attraction seasons of the selected plants helps to create different sensory effects of the dynamic and immersive experience, this experience will also be enhanced by the growth of existing species and the newly arrived species.

Building Blocks Considerations

When implementing the idea of extending the space underground, several walls were initially set up to divide space and experience, the walls were removed considering of the actual functional implementation as a shop.

In this building block, the lower ground level was connected by actually opening up a larger percentage of floor in ground level, in this way to open the view and create the inviting sign to go underground.
The openings of the building blocks are considered to be in a hierarchical pattern to create different layers of views and for people in different blocks to be more connected.

The walls were initially implemented to divide the space into pieces of areas, later considering the scale as well as the functional purpose, most of the walls were removed for group activities. A small room was remained for private use.

These are two perspective view of the gallery. By looking from different angles, it shows a dramatic change of pattern and shape, which is visually interesting.
Also the store-front structure opens up the space, and makes the gallery functionally diverse and inviting.

These are two perspective view in the summer-theme garden. By opening up the building blocks in a certain position, a twisting view was formed, also it creates the illusion effect of scale with the help of height variation and angles.
Perspectives

When thinking of developing the figures of the building blocks, the principle was based on the articulation of the blocks needs to address the programmatic requirements of the project. In addition, the design of space and building figures were made to make the site more functional, engaging, thoughtful and emphasis on visitors’ immersive experience.
The facades of the architectural
pavilions were designed also considering the materiality and thickness.
More importantly, this project achieves the harmony of the relationships between the interior and outdoor spaces of the project are and these together express the programmatic, experiential ideas and ecological dimensions of the garden.
Perspectives of Garden Features and Garden Views

By looking through the window, visitors will be able to gain a straight forward view of an overall flow of landscape in diagonal line of the site.

A flowing pattern connected by shelter blocks, building shapes and the landscape can be witnessed by looking from the corner point of the site.

Portals create illusion and visual impression, build the connections of sights between different parts of the site together.
